client appreciations

As one would imagine it is always wonderful to hear from students and their parents about how I have supported them or their children.

Jill has worked with our daughter from middle school through high school, and has continued "virtually" during college. Jill can simplify the most complicated concepts and break them down so that her students can truly understand. This has made a world of difference for our daughter's confidence and success. Jill has command of the spectrum of material, from the basics to the most advanced. She has unlimited positive energy and a great sense of humor. Jill is not only a committed and valued educator, but also a part of the family.

I first met Jill before I knew that 1+1=2. Jill came to my house once a week to tutor my sister who was in high school at the time. I sat in the room next to them to listen to Jill explain match concepts to my sister—while they were laughing and chatting about everyday life—waiting for my sister to have the “ah-ha” moment when all became clear. I would have never expected to be jealous of someone doing math!

I had my own opportunity to work with Jill in 7th grade when I found myself struggling in a particularly challenging algebra class. Jill helped me to grasp the concepts, solve the problems, and perhaps most importantly, learn how to turn the frustration I felt into motivation to tackle the next problem. She was imperative to my success in that math class and in other math classes throughout my high school career.

Jill is brilliant and knows math cold. She is like a dictionary for math concepts, theorems, and rules. However, what makes Jill so special isn’t her innate mathematical talent, it’s her ability to connect with all her students and create a relaxed environment where they can learn, not get more stressed out. She’ll push you harder than your math teacher, but will be there for you till you get it—and after. I’m off to college this fall, but know that Jill is readily accessible by text for a quick explanation of a math concept or a longer conversation about life.

Tutoring with Jill was truly one of the best experiences of my high school career. I was completely lost in my math classes, especially in my senior AP Calculus. Jill not only taught me to learn to love these classes but also helped me through my SATs from start to finish, resulting in nearly perfect scores in both my writing and math sections and allowing me to choose from my top school choices. As a college graduate, I owe my test taking skills and many achievements to Jill's help and support.

I have been working with Jill Weisz since my freshman year of High School. Math has always been something that I struggled with, particularly since starting at Noble and Greenough School. Not only was Jill recommended by my advisor, but she was also highly recommended by many of my peers. Over the course of 4 years, working with Jill, I have become more confident in my math ability and now have an understanding on how to work through struggles I face with the subject. Whether it was a one-on-one meeting, or going through a problem over the phone, Jill was able to break down a problem in a way that she knew I could make sense of. Jill makes it her top priority that each of her students excels and improves, even after one session. She has a special understanding of each student and her warming personality makes her approachable mentor. I know I can reach out to Jill at anytime with any questions I face about Math in the future.

Jill has been my therapist, as well as Math tutor, for the four years I attended Nobles. Math tutor, sure, but Jill has been so much more than that for me.
